Description

ATOQ (Advanced Training On Quality) for Youth Exchanges is a training course to increase quality within youth exchanges. An international group of youth workers will look back to past experience(s), focus on quality aspects and improve management competences in order to raise quality in future exchanges.

The aim of the ATOQ is to support experienced youth workers/leaders in increasing the quality of the European youth exchanges they set up within the Youth in Action Programme.

The ATOQ will provide the participants with opportunities to:

  1. Critically reflect upon their previous international youth exchange experience(s) and the impact on young people;
  2. Increase the understanding of different quality aspects of youth exchanges such as: active participation of young people , involvement of promoters and stakeholders, diversity and intercultural learning, European dimension and citizenship;
  3. Experience a non-formal learning process and understand its importance in youth exchanges;
  4. Improve their project management competences ( knowledge, skills and attitudes) in order to better organise the different phases of a youth exchange

The training course starts on 11 February 2014 in the afternoon and ends on 16 February 2014 after breakfast. The ATOQ Italy training course will take place in Matera (Southern Italy). Bari is the closest international airport.

Eligibility

The training course is open for voluntary and professional youth workers, working directly with young people, which organised and/or participated as a team member in at least one international youth exchange (which is completed) and plan to organise another within the frame of the Youth in Action programme. Participants should be at least 18 years old.

Eligible are participants from: Austria, Belgium – DE, Belgium – FL, Belgium – FR, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine,  Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia.

Costs

Board, lodging and programme costs will be provided and paid for by the Italian National Agency, in cooperation with the Greek National Agency. Travel costs will be covered by your local National Agency (in case you will be selected). Please contact your NA to learn more about the financial details, and how to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses. In most cases National Agencies ask for a participant contribution. Check with your National Agency.

Application

Before you apply you should check with the NA of your residence country if it is involved in this particular project and would be ready to support any candidate (incl. to cover travel costs of selected participant(s) from your country). The NA of your country will pre-select the applicants from your country; the hosting NA will fine-tune the list of participants and inform all applicants about the selection result. SALTO and/or the host NA select the applicants from countries other than Programme Countries.

Application is done online HERE. The deadline for application is 6 January 2014. NAs are kindly requested to prioritise the candidates from their country by 13 January 2014 at latest. Final selection of participants will be done by 15 January 2014.
